Highs and Lows

No, not talking about my mood, lol! Buffalo, NY is the only place I know that you can experience four seasons in one week. Mid-week we hit 80 degrees and be-u-tiful sunshine, and today it is snowing :(. I kid you not.

I had prepared overnight oats last night for this morning’s breakfast.. but I woke up kind of wishing i had made regular HOT oats to warm me up….brrrrrr.

My recipe for Overnight Oats:

~1 container (6oz) greek or regular plain yogurt, I prefer greek

~approx. 3 tablespoons pumpkin

~1/3 cup oats (regular not quick)

~Lots’o cinnamon, or to taste

Put all the above ingredients in a bowl and let sit overnight (yup, it’s as easy as that). In the morning, top with b-nanner, walnuts, raisins, and what ever other flavors suit your fancy.

Its been an eventful week, and I am so happy the weekend has finally arrived! I have secured a bunch of products to be sent to me for reviews, so expect a great variety of exciting products over the next few days (weeks?). But for now, I would like to introduce you to Yogi Raw Fruit and Nut Bars by Wai Lana:

These little beauties popped up when i was searching for a homemade Larabar  recipe on Google.

Made from a real, raw ingredients, these bars are a little heftier in calories than Larabars but equally flavorful and delicious. From the company’s website i purchased the Cherry Pomegranate flavor, the Autumn Apple flavor, and the Tropical Macadamia. I never have been a big macadamia person, but the Tropical Macadamia  turned out to be my favorite :) Note to self: retry macadamia’s STAT!  When I first opened up the package I realized that there were two 1 oz. bars inside instead of one big one. I thought this was a little off so I checked the nutritional info again and realized that the stats are only for one bar. doh! Well, I’ll have you know that upon first biting into these bars i realized that for what they lack in size they make up in FLAVA! The things these bars lack are what makes them so delicious and nutritious…. they contain zero cholesterol, zero trans-fat, zero hydrogenated fat, and zero sodium. Only recognizable fruits, nuts,  and spices!

I will definitely being finishing the bars I purchased. Oh and keep an eye for new Ella photos (she’s getting her haircut tomorrow, she’s sure to look Fabulous) :)

      any thing you want … i just add the pumpkin because i like the flavor….you could make it with a flavored yogurt instead and then add your toppings in the morning… or you could mix in cocoa poweder or something else you like the flavor of …. the pumpkin is definitly not needed tho….so you can make it however you like! Hope this helps!
