Peanut Butter, Raisins, and Carrots that is. A spin off the classic PB & J, this sandwich is so good, that I just had to share. The sweetness from the raisins and the carrots compliment the peanut butter so well and it’s a perfect easy addition to a healthy lunch or snack.
What You’ll Need:
~2 Tablespoons Crunchy Krema Peanut Butter (more on that later), or what ever you have on hand
~ 2 tablespoons raisins
~ thinly sliced or shredded carrots to taste
~2 pieces whole wheat or 100% whole grain bread (I used Food For Life Ezekiel Bread)
What to do:
Spread the peanut butter on the bread, top with raisins ( so they are evenly dispersed), sprinkle with carrot, and press the bread together. And then enjoy. I drizzle of honey on top or maybe the addition of banana inside could add some variation to this oh so versatile sandwich.
The inspiration for this sandwich came from the shipment of 100% natural Peanut Butter I received today from Krema Products. I received two peanut butters from their Krema brand (crunchy and smooth) and two from their Crazy Richards brand.
I was really excited to taste the crunchy peanut butter because I havent had it in so long. Whats great about these peanut butter’s is that they are 100 % natural, but require no stirring. Think the consistency of regular peanut butter (Jiffy, Peter Pan, etc.) but with a taste 1000 times better, creamier, and only made from PEANUTS! That’s right….there are no other ingredients in these jars of bliss….just good ol’ peanuts. I first tried the Crazy Richards crunchy, and it was hands down the best peanut butter I (and my parents) have ever had!
And equally impressive as the taste, these peanut butters, although natural (meaning with natural oils), dont even have to be refrigerated (as many natural nut butters do, sometimes making them hard and unappealing). I highly recommend these peanut butters if you’re looking for healthy alternative, without relinquishing that old skool peanut buttery taste and consistency you know and love.
Krema products also offers nut butters such as cashew (would love to try) and various types of almond butter. Thanks again Krema for making these wonderful products and being generous enough to send me some!
All this peanut butter talk reminds me to tell you guys to check out Hug-a-Fat month over at Katie’s blog, a message about the goodness and neccesity of healthy fats in our lives! Think of all the great things they give us: nice hair, skin, nails, and overall health! Here’s to Peanut Butter!
Oh, FYI my parents both tried the chocolate flavor of the Raw Crunch bars that i reviewed yesterday…..and absolutly loved them! My dad remarked “that was the best bar I have ever had”……watch out Larabar’s. LOL.
Well just finished packing my lunch for my softball tournament tomorrow….wish me luck! Now I am off to catch up on the last two episodes of V (addicted) that I missed while stu….well you know
