Gym Creepers+Food ABC’s

‘Ello friends! How’s is everyones day going!!

I have some fun stuff to share with you all tonight! First a little story action and then a fun survey!

*************

There have been some majorly weird people at my gym lately! I am talking CREEP-E! Like this:

(Haha I love SNL!)

Well maybe not as bad as that…but for instance today I was on the elliptical  just minding my own business (reading the new issue of Health!!) when this guy, probably about 18 or 19 comes over to the elliptical next to me and starts using it. Well that’s obviously not the weird part…but all of the sudden he turns his head and just starts starring directly at me….FOR LIKE 20 minutes!! The ellipticals in my gym are pretty close together so he was like invading my space….not to mention creeping me out! Every time I would look over he would turn away, and every time I looked back he would turn back towards me! So weird! I don’t know if he was trying to read the article on Spring fashions I was reading or just wanted to be annoying but he was definitely a strange one. I was like “can I help you dude?”.

Oh and don’t even get me started on “pointy boobs” lady or the man that wears jeans to work out! Stories for another day for sure :)

**********

I am jumping on the band wagon! This survey thing looked so fun to fill out, and I always like seeing what other people eat, so I would give it a try! Here are my Food ABC’s:

A: is for Apple, what’s your favorite variety? Pink Ladies are my absolute favorite! So crunchy, so sweet. Fuji’s and Crispin’s are close seconds!

B: is for Bread, regardless of nutrition, calories, or whole grains what is your favorite type to have a nice big piece of? A big, warm, seedy, nutty piece of multigrain bread with a crispy thick crust! Preferably slathered in PB or thick jam!

C: is for Cereal what is your favorite kind currently (just one!): Hmm this is a tough one because I am a huge cereal lover! I use about 5 different kinds on my oatmeal and overnight oats! But my one staple that I always have on hand would have to be Ezekiel. I love the little crunchy nuggets! They taste like Grape Nuts but made with sprouted wheat!

D: is for Doughnuts, you might not currently be eating them but what kind do you fancy? You may find this hard to believe but I actually…..DON’T like donuts. Never have. Even when I was little my grandma would take me to this italian bakery and get me a doughnut and the only part I would eat would be the sprinkles on top.

E: is for Eggs, how would you like yours prepared? I really like scrambled or soft boiled eggs the best! And I really like eating eggs on salads!

F: is for Fat Free, what is your favorite fat free product? I love fat free dairy! It has so much protein and you actually absorb more calcium from fat free dairy products than from other kinds!

G: is for Groceries, where do you purchase yours at? I love Wegmans, which is my local grocery store! But I LOVE Whole Foods and Trader Joes…so those would definitely be my favorite if I had them near by.

H: is for Hot Beverages, what is your favorite hot drink? I actually prefer cold drinks, but if I had to pick I would probably say hot apple cider or steamed milk! Tea is good to….but I have to be in the mood for it.

I: is for Ice Cream, pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping…Mint Chocolate Chip with crushed Oreo’s! YUM!

no this isn't ice cream....but it smells good enough to eat!

J: is for Jams or Jellies, do you eat them, and if so what kind and flavor? I  like jam and jelly! Either way works for me. My favorite flavors are strawberry and this mixed fruit flavor from Crofter’s!

K: is for Kashi, name your favorite Kashi product? I like their granola bars and crackers the best! Especially the Honey Almond Flax granola bars!

L: is for Lunch, what was yours today? Packed up for school: corn tortillas with humus, tomato, red onion, and lettuce+blueberry siggi’s yogurt+an apple+carrots and dip+lentil soup! Delish!

M: is for Milk, what kind do you like (flavor, source, etc)? I mostly drink skim milk but I also looove unsweetened almond!

N: is for Nuts, what kind are your favorite? Almonds, then walnuts, then pecans!

O: is for Onions, do you eat them? I can eat onions everyday! I love their flavor and how much dimension they add to meals! Raw, cooked, roasted, grilled….anyway you make ‘em I love them!

P: is for Protein, what is your favorite source? Fish (faves include: salmon, tuna, red snapper, sea bass, and shrimp!), greek yogurt (and dairy in general), beans and legumes!

Q: is for Quiche, what 4 ingredients would you like in yours? I have actually never had quiche! GASP! But if I do make one I will definitely take Hollie’s lead and have it with smoked salmon! That sounds amazing!

R: is for Restaurant, what’s the name of your favorite and what type of cuisine does it serve?? Merge is my favorite! They serve mainly vegan and veg cuisine…but with a few local meat dishes! Everything is amazingly fresh and so unique!

S: is for Spices, name 4 that are in your kitchen right now that you have used in the past 5 days? Cinnamon, chili powder, basil, and garlic powder<- all staples right there!

T: is for Trick or Treating, what 5 candies does your bag contain? I haven’t gone trick or treating for a few years now but when I did go I used to love getting Reeses cups, Musketeer bars, Peanut M and M’s, Twizzler’s, and Nerd’s!

U: is for Universal, what is your favorite type of cuisine from around the world? Japanese! Sushi to be exact! I love Asian cuisines in general! Load up on some sesame oil and I am all over it!

V: is for Vitamins, do you take them, and if so, what kinds? I am a slacker in this department. I have vitamins but I never take them! I like to think I get enough nutrients from the food I eat, but it probably wouldn’t hurt to take a multivitamin too!

got my omega-3's covered!!!

W: is for Water, do you drink bottled, spring, tap, sparkling, etc? This is another area I slack in! I never drink enough water! I really need to consciously tell myself to drink water everyday…I never feel like I get thirsty! As for type of water, tap is fine for me!

X: is for Xtra special, what food holds a special place in your heart? Chivettas Chicken! It’s a marinade that is made locally and it is fantastic! Every time I eat it with a nice piece of crispy grilled chicken, it reminds me of summer and of my childhood :)

Y: is for Yogurt, you can only afford 1 cup, what kind do you purchase? Siggi’s all the way! The thickest and creamiest yogurt on the planet.

Z: is for Zero guilt, what food can you enjoy over and over without any guilt? Fruits and veggies! They are the like the quintessential no guilt foods! (not that food should ever make you feel guilty!!!) Amazingly healthy and delicious! And the more ya eat the better!

Do we have any food likes or dislikes in common!?

What’s your strangest food combo?: My food combo’s probably aren’t that weird for the blog world, but a lot of other people think what I eat is mighty strange. For example: eggs with cheese and jam, salad’s with salsa and mustard, cottage cheese/yogurt with pumpkin (I don’t understand why people at school think this is weird!!! It’s delicious!)!

Do you ever come across any peculiar people at the gym? Story time!

Love you all!!!

*kaila*

PS: Would anyone want to see a video tutorial of how I make my overnight oats with softserve? I’ve been getting a lot of questions about it lately so I thought it might be fun!

  1. Oh, please make the video tutorial, I am really interested!! Maybe the strange dude at the gym liked you? :) )
I agree with you on donuts, I don´t like them, don´t eat them and I even hate the smell of them :) But I love fruits and veggies and if you give me a bowl full of broccoli, I would be really happy :)
When being in Norway, I loved to have a slice of bread with cheese and straberry preserve for breakfast. Now I don´t know exactly, but I eat a lot of strange combos like lentils with cocoa powder or wrap with hummus and fig jam…but usually I eat just normal :)
When I go for my zumba class, there´s always this lady working out in a pullover, long trousers and sweat shirt. She says that she needs to stay in the “burning zone”… well, I´ll be definitely burnt after one hour of zumba in a full winter geat :)

  2. i love theses things so much fun to stalk ya…sorry creepy:)You never realize something is weird until you try it in the real world and everone is freaked out.

I’m glad this survey caught on- so fun and so food blog appropriate :)
That guy at the gym sounds like a creeper- but I really want to hear about pointy boob lady!!
I love Ezekiel cereal- the little nuggets taste delish and so much better than grape nuts!

  7. There was this creepy old man who would always say hi to me at the gym, try to correct my form, and quite obviously check me out. It was gross and I had to change the hours that I went to the gym for a while so I could avoid seeing him.
    Hehe I loved that survey.
Siggi’s yogurt is the best!! It’s so darn expensive though. I love the vanilla and the orange ginger varieties.

  8. LOL! Pointy boobs lady; that’s a classic right there!
And eww, I hate creepers. I would’ve been sooo freaked out!

And definitely make that vlog girl, I’d love to see it!

  9. That song is so funny. My sociology teacher played it for us a while ago :P

That is pretty creepy though. One of the big reasons I only use the gym when I’m desperate. hah. It’s like dude could you at least try to make it not completely obvious all your doing is staring? *shudders*

Totally with you on Asian cuisine being the best. It really is :D

  10. Ugh! Sorry about the gym creepers – I know what you mean about dude invading your space…definitely had that happen! I use the university gym as my primary gym now and that certainly doesn’t help things!!!
