Mother’s Day is one of my favorite non-traditional holidays of the year because it celebrates one of the most important people in my life. Love you, mom!
We started the celebratory events last night with a nice family dinner out at one of our favorite sushi places…
[tried scallop sashimi for the first time…it was incredible! like buttah!]
Presents were given…
and special treats were enjoyed.
[OREO CUPCAKE…no words.]
But the showing of appreciation and gratitude for all my mom does didn’t stop there! This morning I woke up early to make my mom breakfast in bed. A Mother’s day tradition of course!
[breakfast burritos with cheesy eggs, avocado, daiya cheddar cheese, and green salsa]
Then we got glammed up (ha!) and headed over to my Aunt’s house for a Mother’s day luncheon.
There was an awesome spread of food…
We even got to bring Ella so she could play with her cousin!
[they are SO cute together!]
After a family filled afternoon, we came home and relaxed for a bit. But we couldn’t resist playing a little tennis since the weather was SO nice today! (the weatherman was waaaay off with the rain he predicted for today!)
All in all I think my mom had a great day. I really enjoyed spending some quality time with my whole family.
For all my mom does for my family each and every day I hope day’s like today remind her of how much she truly means to us. But in reality, everyday should be a celebration of our mom’s. They truly are amazing.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mom’s out there! Hope everyone enjoyed time with their families and enjoyed their weekend!
Now back to reality…another 7 hour day of exams tomorrow
