The big day is tomorrow, folks! My first day back at school for the Spring semester! I am so excited to get back into the swing of things and keep working towards my degree (although I have NO idea yet if I am even going to stay with my current major or what I’m gonna do when I graduate…but that’s okay…for now). To be honest, if I could do anything, I would move to LA and pursue acting…but obviously that’s not very realistic and I KNOW how important a college degree is! Plus I feel like I’d be missing out on all the other opportunities I could have from the other areas I am interested in. Aaaaah decisions decisions! I already feel stressed and classes haven’t even started! :) Just breeeeeeeathe.
Well, I am actually pretty excited to write this post up for you all and since blogging is always an outlet of relaxation for me so let’s get right into it!
As a FitFluential ambassador I get opportunities to work with various brands on different marketing and promotional campaigns. I don’t always get chosen for them, but a few weeks ago when I saw that Silk would be working with us to spread the word about their almond milk…I prayed that I’d be chosen to work with them!
Long before I even knew that Silk would be working with FitFluential, they were my FAVORITE brand of almond milk to buy.
[Featured them here in a Foods of the Moment post!]
When I first tried almond milk a few years ago, I wasn’t sold on it. The brand I tried was really thin, lacked flavor, and tasted a little sour. It grew on me a bit but not enough to make me switch to it from regular cow’s milk. That transition happened once I tried Silk’s almond milk. I had always been a fan of their soy milk, so I had pretty high expectations for their new product.
My expectations were not only met…but TOTALLY EXCEEDED.
No lie, Silk makes the creamiest, most rich, smooth almond milk I have ever tasted. I know a lot of people like flavored almond milks, but with Silk, the texture is so creamy and thick that the unsweetened is perfect! In fact the Unsweetened Original is my favorite out of their entire line with the Unsweetened Vanilla as a close second.
Silk Almond Milk is the only milk I use now. Not only does it have the calcium equivalent of cow’s milk, tons of vitamins and nutrients, and a healthy dose of good fats from the almonds, and a pretty low amount of calories…but it’s SO versatile and can be used in pretty much any recipe that calls for regular milk. Or be the star of a recipe itself! Here are some of the recipes I’ve used almond milk in successfully:
Almond Crusted Chicken Fingers
Mexican Chocolate Breakfast Shake
As you can see that’s a pretty wide spectrum of dishes…just another testament to how awesome Silk almond milk is! Even my parents like it…so it’s clearly not only for vegans! Basically if you like rich tasting, creamy beverages that also pack a ton of nutrition…then it’s for you!
If you haven’t tried almond milk before though, I highly suggest going with Silk for your first experience! I have faith that you’ll be totally impressed and you’ll save yourself the trial and error that I had to go through to found a brand that I really like!
If you’re looking for some other ways to use almond milk (instead of just chugging it straight from the carton…not that I’ve done that
)…check out these recipes that some fellow bloggers have created from scratch (there’s also a coupon there too!)! They all look terrific!
