Christmas Festivities [recap]

Hi friends! [<--Ha! Someone was tweeting the other day about how stupid it is to start a post like this...but oh well! You're all friends to me! :) ]

Hope your holidays were filled with lots of family time, friends, fun, and FOOD! I can honestly say this was a great Christmas! The atmosphere and positive spirits that I felt the entire time were unmatched! Also, I think my family really liked what I got them for gifts which is such a great feeling! I love when you find something for someone that they genuinely are surprised by and excited to get! Seeing my family open their presents is one of my favorite moments of the entire year. Too bad it only comes once a year :(

But no focusing on the fact that Christmas is over just yet….how about a nice little recap to keep the holiday spirit alive and well!? Mostly wordless (sort of like my WIAW post this week!), as I think the pictures do their fair share of talking…

MY NEW BIKE!!! I was so shocked my parents got me this! I have been wanting/needing a new bike ever since my bike troubles earlier this year (getting my bike stolen and then getting hit by two cars while riding) and I was ecstatic to see this beauty sitting downstairs on Christmas morning. My parents seriously go above and beyond with everything that they do. I am so appreciative of their generosity. christmasdinner

It was an amazing holiday. It was so nice to spend it surrounded by family and I could not get over how ‘high on life’ I felt over the past few days. Something about the love, kindness, and goodwill that people exude during this time of year is so indescribable. It’s moments like that ones from the past few days that make me realize how lucky I am to have the people in my life that I do. My parents especially…I don’t know what I would do with out them. I hope I can repay them someday for all that they have given me…both figuratively and materially.

Sounds like you had an amazing time! Very nice!

I was most excited to get two things equally – I got new wireless ear buds and a new Camelbak day pack for hiking! I can’t wait to try them both out! The best gift I gave was probably the Red Sox World Series Champs stuff I got for my dad or the cheerleader necklace I gave my niece (which I’ve been told she hasn’t taken it off since she got it about a week ago at an early Christmas celebration).

We always have my aunt’s apple pie and her butter cookies at Christmas. The butter cookies are ONLY at Christmas too, so when they come out I turn into a legit cookie monster and EAT ALL THE COOKIES! :)

I’m so glad you had an amazing Christmas! It’s always a blessing to get to spend the holidays with loved ones.

I made a wishlist of things I wanted but I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up getting, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got a bluetooth keyboard for my tablet and a new coat! But I was really excited to give my sister the Zoolander DVD since she’s obsessed with that movie.

From the family fun to the gifts and food – it looks like you had an awesome Christmas celebration!
On one hand it really is a pity we only get to give gifts to that many others once a year. But on the other I’m glad it’s that way because some people are SO hard to buy for. Case in point is my dad and that’s why his gift was the one I was most excited to give this year. What a relief when he liked it.
“High on life” – that’s exactly what I felt like on Christmas Day, too. We celebrated mainly on Christmas Eve as usual but had our traditional family gathering on Wednesday which was all about embracing the time we had together. Including my absolute favourite part: a long walk on the beach – yes, no matter what temperature.
