It’s time to quit Quest! Here’s a collection of the healthiest protein bars that you can eat as alternatives to those processed, chemical-laden bars. No need to #cheatclean when you can FUEL RIGHT with these awesome options.
Well folks, I did it. Something I swear I’d NEVER do. I ate (well, tried) a Quest bar.
That’s right. They released a flavor that was only sweetened with stevia in their Quest Labs store and I figured it might as well be the time to try one of their bars since one of the big reasons I’m so against them is their use of sucralose.
I’ve sworn them off for years, but thought I should at least give them a shot out of fairness to the company and the brand (I love their chips and all-purpose protein powder, BTW!).
Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed. Chalky, overly sweet, and utterly stomachache inducing. Not tasty in the slightest and not even remotely enjoyable. To be honest, I couldn’t even finish the bar (Mocha Chocolate Chip flavor…to be specific). The flavor was just so off and the texture was tough and overly chewy. I wasn’t going to microwave or ‘broil it’ like some people do simply because I don’t think you should have to alter a bars state to make it edible.
Needless to say, I am not a Quest bar fan. What I’ve always said about them was finally proven true through my own experience and I will NOT be reaching for one ever again. But that’s not what today’s post is about. No, today’s post is about the positive side of the protein bar world! Today, I am sharing my Top 5 Healthy Protein Bar Picks that serve as SUPERB alternatives to Quest bars.
I know people like Quest for the high protein, high fiber, and low sugar content. However, what if I told you that there were plenty of other ALL NATURAL, REAL FOOD options out there that are just as satisfying, nutrient-filled (arguably better for you actually!), and even more delicious than your beloved Quest bars? Would you go for it?
The 5 bars I am featuring today are naturally sweetened or have no added sugar, are made with all natural protein sources, have minimal ingredients (all of which are recognizable), and come in AMAZING flavors. All are vegetarian, most are vegan, and all pack a protein punch that rivals any quest bar!
