Friends, I am on a FOODIE HIGH! If you didn’t know, last weekend was the annual Expo East Convention in Baltimore! This is my fourth year attending and I swear it gets bigger and better every year. Of course I know Expo West is even more HUGE (which I can’t even imagine!), but the east coast event is so close to me that I can’t help but not go.
Hey friends! I AM BACK! After a whirlwind 3 days in NYC, I have a lot to share.
Even though I was only there for a short period of time, I got a lot in! Saw some amazing sights, ate some amazing food, and just had a really great time getting away for a bit.
Be prepared. This post is long and picture heavy! But I hope you’ll enjoy reliving my adventure with me.
October 2014 – Theme
Spooky Spices: You know they are lurking there: Way in the back of your spice drawer. There lie the herbs, spices, or rubs that are getting dusty because you’re afraid to use them… you simply don’t know what to do with them! Well, pull them out and show us a recipe you created to deliciously conquer that fearful spice. (Or maybe the recipe was a flop – and the spice still give you nightmares?!)
I came up with what I like to call…hidden veggie muffins! Not only are these muffins made with applesauce of course, but they contain veggies that you can’t even taste. How’s that for boosting the nutritional value? They are also gluten free, low carb, sugar free, and high in protein!
Happy Weekend! Time for another installment of EXPLORING YOUR OWN BACKYARD!
When I last left you in discussing my exploring adventures, I had taken a solo day trip to Corning, NY to visit the Museum of Glass there! As you may remember, I had the chance to make my own piece of glass fusing and was super excited to see the final result! Well, a friend that lives in town there was able to pick my piece up and send it to me! Unfortunately….THIS is what I saw when I opened the package….. Broken in two! What a bummer. It was supposed to be a small curved, glass plate. My dad is going to try and glue it, so we’ll see if it’s salvageable!
