Summer is PARTY season in my opinion! Graduation celebrations (for high school and college), Memorial Day BBQ’s, lots of birthday parties (I always wished I was a summer baby!), and a lot of ‘just because’ get-togethers to welcome in the best season of the year.
I, for one, love entertaining! My parents have been hosting big parties at our house since I was little, so I was always used to having people around every few weekends or so. I even made it fun for myself by playing waitress/assistant bartender. 😉
Aside from catching up with family, enjoying the nice weather, and doing some fun party activities, the best part of any gathering is definitely…the FOOD. You agree, right?
What did you expect from a food loving gal like me? I love potluck style parties where everyone brings a dish. It makes for a wide variety of food and you get to see what everyone’s specialty is.
Just as much as I enjoy eating all the fun party foods, I like making them as well! It’s so fun to plan out a menu for entertaining. I’m a big fan of small bite dishes that allow people to taste a little bit of everything without getting too full. You know I love my snack plates. 🙂
Since I am not having my own graduation party because I’ll be traveling most of the month, I thought I’d share my go-to party appetizer for bringing to get-togethers. Even though I won’t get a chance to make it for guests this month, at least some of you will have a new fun dish to bring to your next summer party!
This appetizer is made with my favorite crackers from Dare. I’ve used Dare brand crackers to make appetizers for years and their light buttery, flavorful taste made them perfect for my newest recipe. They key is their CRUNCH. They’re sturdy enough to hold all the toppings you choose and so nice to bite into!
Once you get your ingredients, assembling my cracker appetizer is as easy as 1-2-3…literally. Check out the simple recipe!
- 6 Dare Crackers
- 4 oz cranberry goat cheese
- 2 slices of turkey bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled (or use soy bacon if vegetarian)
- 6 dates, pitted and thinly sliced
- Layer a thin slice of cheese on top of each cracker, followed by a few date pieces, and a sprinkle of crumbled turkey bacon. Serve at your next party!
Sweet-tart cranberries mixed in with creamy smooth goat cheese, layered with a chewy date, and crispy, salty crumbled turkey bacon. It’s like flavor and texture heaven in a bite!
These cracker stacks taste rich and decadent because of how flavorful they are! In reality, they’re actually pretty darn good for you. But your fellow party guests won’t know that!
Goat cheese is a low-fat cheese, the bacon is made with turkey as opposed to red meat, the dates have no added sugars, and the crackers…well, the crackers are made with ancient grains and natural ingredients.
Crunchy, creamy, BACON-Y, and healthy! Not to mention simple to make. What more could you want in a summer appetizer?
Now, I just have to find a party to go to so I can make these! 🙂
