A roundup of what I’m loving lately! From food to fitness, from pop culture to podcasts, and everything in between. Check out this post and maybe discover some new favorites of your own!
Hey hey hey, friends!
TGIF am I right?! This week has been a BUSY one…but fun and productive nonetheless!
The Return of Fall TV
Ahhhhh the best time of the year for TV in my opinion! All my favorite shows return: The Walking Dead, Blackish, Modern Family, Blindspot, American Crime, Law and Order: SVU, Homeland, Jane the Virgin, and The Last Man on Earth. Yeah I watch a lot of shows. 🙂
A few new ones I’m loving right now? You’re the Worst on FXX. It’s not new exactly, but new to me and it’s hilarious! Another oldie but goodie, American Horror Season 6! I was NOT a fan of last year’s Hotel season, but this year with My Roanoke Nightmare, I am LOVING IT. It’s very Blair Witch-esque.
It seems like every week I find a new protein powder to LOVE. As of now, I am totally on the NuZest bandwagon! NuZest is vegan, gluten-free, protein powder made from GOLDEN PEAS. How cool is that!? It’s also fruit sweetened (not too many like that out there!) and comes in amazing flavors.
I recently had the chance to try all four flavors (cappuccino, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla) and fell in love. They taste amazing and are just so smooth and creamy! I like them so much that I got a full sized tub of the strawberry. It’s definitely the best fruity, vegan protein I’ve ever had.
A Big Announcement
You guys. I am running a marathon. In 15 weeks. The Run Rock n’ Roll Phoenix Marathon on January 15th to be exact! After a solid few months of training injury and pain-free, I’ve been able to really build myself back up and establish a good base. Things are FINALLY starting to feel good when I run again. So good in fact, I decided NOW was the time for my first marathon. I am so excited to be running in Phoenix (where I’ll be moving eventually!) and couldn’t have picked a better race to be my first.
I am in training right now and will certainly keep you updated on everything as I progress. I am excited, nervous, and have NO IDEA what to expect. My only goal is to finish. That’s it. I think I can do it. 🙂

Freakonomics Podcast: 10 Signs You Might be a Libertarian
Okay guys, I am not one to talk politics on here, but I finally feel like I know what I am. I won’t go into details because I don’t want to get controversial, but ever since I listened to the most recent episode of Freakonomics (one of my fave podcasts) I finally feel like I have a place. Sure it may not be popular opinion, but it represent what I think and believe in. That’s good enough for me! DEFINITELY give it a listen and prepare to have your mind blown
And I realize, this might not be of interest to everyone…but the political science buff in me had to share! 🙂
Flying Colors Apparel
I recently received an order that I placed with Flying Colors Apparel earlier this month! You see, my dad is an avid baseball player. We’re not talking slow pitch softball or a weekend rec league. He plays in a National league called MUNY MSBL and he happens to be one of the best players and managers in the country. His team has one 5 World Series Championships (yes he’s got the rings and all!) and he is in the MUNY MSBL League Hall of Fame!
Well, it’s the end of baseball season for him now, but his team is in the finals for the ump-teenth time and I always love going to watch his games to support him. I thought it was time that I got some gear to match the team’s colors, ya know!? That’s why I ordered an outfit from Flying Colors to wear at the championship this weekend.
Flying Colors creates fun, stylish, feminine clothing in the colors of your favorite college team or professional sports team! My dad’s team’s colors are black and texas orange. NO ONE has texas orange (it’s that rusty orange looking color!), but believe it or not, Flying Colors did. I ordered a pair of classic black leggings and a cute flowy top with a cut out back. The colors match perfectly with my dad’s and now I don’t have to go to the game wearing an oversized, old jersey or something. It’s nice to be able to dress up a bit AND support the team at the same time!
Silly Search Terms
I like checking my blog statistics sometimes for the sheer joy of seeing what silly search terms have led people to this little corner of the interwebs. 😉 Here’s a few gems from the past week…
my waist doesn’t seem thinner on whole30 diet | you know my thoughts on the paleo diet…
creative ways to handle stress | cause we all know the typical methods are NOT effective!
nut balls | that’s what she said…haha! But in all seriousness they probably were looking for these type of nut balls!
peanut cake | well I don’t have peanut cake…but I do have peanut butter blondies!
better than Panera | I’d say THIS is definitely better than Panera!
