So with out further adieu…here are some fun facts on this fine Friday:

1. What is your favorite nut butter?

[TJ’s PB…so good.]

I lay out my top four for ya: Sunflower Seed, Peanut Butter, Cashew, and then Almond. But I don’t discriminate…I’ve never met a nut butter I didn’t like.

2. What makes you happy? (Not food-related!)

Ha! I love how this person specified “non-food related”. While food does make me happy…its certainly not the first thing that comes to mind when I think about happiness. Happiness to me is that cozy time of evening when all your work is done, you can finally relax, and enjoy the company of your family and friends. I look forward to those few hours everyday.

3. What’s your top choice for colleges?

[don’t want this to be me!!!]

At this point I don’t really have a top choice. At one point I did but now that I have come down to reality and realized I don’t want hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt when I get out of school, I have started considering some cheaper options. They may not be that well known of schools or IVY league status…but to me an education is what YOU make of it!

4. Curious to know if you have planned your Christmas Eve meal or your Christmas Day food? I’ve been wondering what other runners are eating this season!

I go to my aunt’s house for a big Christmas eve party every year and everyone brings a dish so I never know what we’ll be eating there! I plan on contributing a few I will definitely share those with you when the time comes. As for Christmas day, I think we’re having pork tenderloin or something? But I don’t eat red meat or pork, so I’ll probably have some fish!

5. Have you ever tried adding cooked oatmeal to your green monsters? I hear that some people do it, and I was wondering if adding cooked, as opposed to uncooked oats, would make the smoothie even more thick. What says you? :)


No I have never tried that actually! I haven’t even tried rolled oats in my smoothies, though I’ve seen a lot of other people do that! Might have to try that out (when it’s a little warmer out Winking smile….I can’t take cold smoothies right now!).

6. This is kind of grim, but if you could choose your last meal, what would it be?

This is SO tough! I would say an all you can eat buffet of my favorite foods. Some that would definitely be present: kabocha (of course!), copious amount of crunchy cereal and crackers, ice cold almond milk, yogurt, carrots with peanut butter, lots of steamed veggies, ALL KINDS OF FISH, some sushi, a big pot of homemade soup, and the most perfect, juicy pink lady apple to end the meal on a sweet note!

7. What is one thing that really really scares you?

[I like that idea!]

The unknown. I am a planner, type A, routine-loving girl! I struggle a little bit with spontaneity and not being able to anticipate and prepare for things. So the unknown (and the future!) gives me a bit of anxiety!

8. How often do you weigh yourself? Do you know your weight?

I get weighed when I go to the doctor. I just went the other day for my shin so I found out my weight then! When I was trying to gain weight earlier this year I weighed myself at home every once in awhile to track my progress.

9. What is your favorite cooking/kitchen tool?


My George Foreman! I love grilling sandwiches and making them all hot and crispy! Plus its great for making fish too when you don’t want to go out to the grill in the freezing cold!

10. What are some of your favorite ways to exercise? lifting? running? circuit training? pilates?

I love variety so its really hard for me to pick just one form of exercise. For cardio my favorite is running..which I can’t do right now sadly. For strength training I like workout DVD’s, pilates, and body weight exercises (BodyRock has some great body weight workouts!).

11. How do you cut your sandwiches? Straight down or diagonal?

I like triangles! Its so much more fun to eat things when they’re cut into cute shapes!

12. Best yoga or pilates workout dvd?

I don’t do much yoga at home (working on that!) but I like Bob Harper’s Yoga for the Warrior and Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown.

13. Whats your fav unhealthy food?

I don’t like many foods that are considered “unhealthy”…just my tastes I guess! But I do love homemade food! So homemade stuff that you could consider “unhealthy” like my grandma’s homemade peanut butter pie would probably be my favorite! Seriously folks, this stuff is to die for! I will share the recipe in an upcoming post!

14. What is your favorite nutrient? that mind sound like a totally weird question. But is it fat, carbs, protein, fiber, etc?


While all the nutrient groups are important and I love foods from ALL of them…if I had to choose one it’d be CARBS! Fruits, veggies, crackers, squash, cereals, breads, sweet potatoes, squash!!! I could live on that stuff!

Any fun weekend plans?

My mom and I bought a Groupon a while back for 30 dollar hour long massages and we are FINALLY using it tomorrow morning! CANNOT WAIT!!!! This will be my second massage EVER.

HOLY CRAP CHRISTMAS IS NEXT WEEK! So excited!!! (just had to put that out there Winking smile)

    Umm can I come to your last meal buffet? It sounds delicious! ;)

    MIne would have Greek yogurt, bananas, Kashi cereal, oatmeal with nut butter, sushi, sweet potatoes, tofu with a sunflower seed butter dipping sauce, pumpkin pie, dried dates and figs, chocolate chunk candy cane ice cream, and fresh raspberries!

    So, we are twins. Like, really. Especially with your answers for college (I refuse to pick a “top choice”), what makes you happy, the last meal (KABOCHA!), fear of the unknown, enjoying variety in workouts, and CARBS! I am a carboholic, a carbivore, whatever you want to call it. I love my grains and fruits and veggies!

    Hi Kaila! I just read your post about being deferred… sorry to hear about that lady :( That happened to me when I was applying as well. Bummer, but I did end up getting in! So you certainly could as well deary
    And this is a fun survey! I think I shall be putting up on my blog soon too. I would loveeee a forman grill, so i am rather jealous you own one! Right now my favorite appliance is my food processor :)

    Enjoy your massage! I had one a few weeks ago and it was soooooooo amazing. Then a Groupon came out for another massage the next day and i bought one. :)
    Last meal – wow that’s hard. I would have to have a huge table filled with pizza. It’s a must. Pizza would have to be included. But I would also want tons of healthier foods: whole grain and hearty breads, hummus, gourmet cheeses, Justin’s maple almond butter….If it’s the last meal, might as well go big or go home :)

    It’s super fun to read these surveys too – you can learn so much! I’ll say that I’m not a big fan of buffets (they tend to favour quantity over quality, and I tend to overeat), but for a last meal that would definitely be my choice too.

    You have exquisite taste in nut butters. I would rank them in exactly the same order: Sunbutter owns me.

    I saw you mentioned about Nakd bars and how much you liked them – I don’t mind sending you a few if you like. I know how annoying it is when your favourite foods come from another continent (Sunbutter being the prime example – UK nut butters aren’t anywhere near as good!).

    For my last meal I think I’d have to try that peanut butter pie you talked about! The herb crusted salmon looks amazing. I’m the same way about colleges. All my friends want to go to really prestigious places but I just wanna go where I can go for free. :)
