Bite-sized mini pies filled with decadent brownie batter dessert hummus! You will love the flaky, buttery crust and sweet, creamy filling in these delectable bites of yum. Gluten-free high in plant-based protein! The perfect healthy snack or dessert.
Don’t you love when you’re wandering around the grocery store and you discover a bunch of new, fun products that you’ve never seen or even heard of before?!
No? Just me?
Well, I take pride in my love of grocery shopping! ‘;) In fact, some of my best recipes have been inspired by trips of Wegmans, Trader Joes, my local co-op, or Whole Foods.
Did you catch that last one? That’s right! Buffalo FINALLY has a Whole Foods. So you can bet I’ve been there once or twice (or *cough* four times) already. On my last trip, I came across these ingenious little snacks in the refrigerated section. Essentially they were like little pierogis filled with hummus! Think pizza bites…but with hummus! So simple, yet so ingenious.
Having the sweet tooth that I have (and it’s been RAGING lately) I figured it would be so fun to make a sweet version of this bite-sized snack food.
I quickly scooped up a few containers of my favorite (and the ORIGINAL) dessert hummus and grabbed the only brand of pre-made pie crust I trust, Immaculate Baking Gluten-Free Ready To Bake Pie Crust!
Quick side bar before we get to my creation: Have you heard of Immaculate Baking? I just have to take a moment to share about how much I LOVE their products. Not only are they gluten-free, organic, and all natural, but also they’re made with REAL, WHOLE FOOD ingredients. No funny business here!
Plus, when you’re super busy (like we all know you will be with the holidays coming up!), you can beat their pre-made refrigerated doughs for convenience!
The ready to bake pie crusts worked amazingly in this creation! I was a little nervous going in to the kitchen experiment, but what I had envisioned ended up working out perfectly. Better than expected, perhaps?
So what is this new invention/recipe creation I keep alluding to?
