A roundup of things I am loving lately! Everything from foods and fitness items to new reads and natural beauty products. You’re sure to find something that piques your interest!
Hey friends! How is everyone doing on this fine morning/afternoon/evening? Well, whenever you are reading this post, you’re in for some fun!
I loved those types of posts. Sort of just stream of consciousness sharing on things that have been making more of an appearance in my life lately…whether it’s food, fitness stuff, or just overall products for wellness!
I personally LOVE reading what other people are ‘into’ at the moment (my girl Leah has some awesome versions of these posts!), so I thought it was about time I hop back on the Things I’m Loving Lately bandwagon. That ok? Great! Let’s get into it!
New protein powder finds are my kryptonite! Yes, I know some people out there are totally against using protein powder supplements, but I am NOT one of those people. I believe everything can be used in moderation and as long as a brand uses clean, quality ingredients, then I am all for it! Ascent fits the bill!
Ascent formulated their protein with athletic performance in mind. They believe NO SHORTCUTS exist…in life and in making their products. Thus, they only work with the best real food ingredients in their protein which is designed to improve muscle health and performance.
I recently tried their Lemon Sorbet Whey Protein and was BLOWN away. It’s so smooth, creamy, and dessert-like in taste. Plus, it blends really well into everything I’ve tried it in. You’ve got to taste it for yourself to see the difference it makes when compared with other protein powders! (Use code YOGA for 10% off your own order!)
One thing I am ALWAYS saying is that I want to make more time reading for pleasure. Well, now I can FINALLY do that because I picked up a new book! No excuses anymore!
Love Warrior by Glenneth Doyle is a 2017 Oprah Book Club Selection and a #1 New York Times Best Seller. So far I love it. It’s a really gorgeous and inspiring account of how we are all born to be warriors. Whether we know it or not, we all have the capacity within us to be strong, powerful, and brave…whether we know it or not. This book helps you realize the potential within you.
Better yet, Doyle is pretty cool herself! She is the founder of an online community called Momastry and the creator of the non-profit Together Raising which works to raise money for families in crisis. Needless, to say, her new book is a MUST READ.
I never thought I liked kombucha…until NOW. I’ve tried a bunch of different brands and flavors but I guess it took a totally NEW variety from Kevita for me to really get on board. I love Kevita’s Probiotic drinks as it is, so when I found out they were releasing a kombucha of their own, I had to give it a try!
I got their Blueberry Basil and Ginger flavors to test out. I loved BOTH of them so much! Such unique, bold flavors in each. Plus I really appreciate that Kevita stuck to the traditional method for making kombucha: fermented with an ancient tea culture, full of live probiotics, organic acids, and organic caffeine. I feel so energized and invigorated when I drink these!
Did you know September is National Yoga Month? That’s right! Seemed like the perfect time to rekindle my love of my personal practice. I used to be a MAJOR yogi back in the day (I ever did a 30 day yoga challenge once!). I’ve gone through lots of transitional phases with yoga but my heart will always belong to Baptiste power yoga. It’s my favorite kind. The heat. The power. The intense flow. I just love it. But truthfully it’s been over a year since I’ve consistently practiced. Sure, I’ve attended a class here and there…but nothing regular. I am YEARNING to get back into a more formal practice. I miss the consistency. I miss the way it makes my body (and MIND) feel…and in all honestly I am TIGHT. I need the stretch.
Since yoga has been on my radar much more lately (especially in the blog world!), I’ve decided to use this month to jumpstart my way back into yoga. I think it will be a nice change from my regular workout routine and also help me with some personal struggles I’ve been dealing with lately. Anyone want to join me?
Guided Hypnotic Meditation
More on the ‘hypnosis’ part of this soon…but in short, I’ve been trying to include meditation in my life at least every other day. I even have a recording personalized for me that guides me through a 30+ minutes meditation. It’s different from traditional meditation practice in that it’s focused on changing specific behaviors within me rather than just on quieting/clearing the mind. So far I’ve been doing it for a week. I am not seeing major changes yet, but I will admit I have a greater sense of calm then I’ve had in WEEKS. Definitely going to keep at it and see where it takes me! Would anyone be interested in hearing more about this?
You know I am the BAR QUEEN! I have at least 2 per day so it’s pretty unusual that I find a bar brand that I HAVEN’T tried before. Believe it or not, I did! B.O.S.S. Food Co. makes superfood snack bars made with only the highest quality, hand selected ingredients from the earth. All whole foods, all healthy, all DELICIOUS!
They believe in clean eating and transparency when it comes to their food…two tenants that are very important to me as well! All of their bars are raw, paleo, and gluten-free, too. My favorite? The Blueberry Walnut with Coconut Oil! Tastes like a blueberry muffin to me and the hint of coconut is perfect.
I buy mine on Amazon Prime! Also, you can get FREE shipping on any 5-pack and/or case of 12 on BOSSFoodCo.com through October 15, 2017 w/code BABBLEBOSS. 🙂
Fruit is my go-to sweetener of choice, as you know! But for coffee, tea, and some of my baked goods, I opt for stevia! I’ve always loved the In the Raw brand for their raw sugar products, but I never knew that they offered a line of stevia as well! Even better, they now have a new ORGANIC stevia.
It’s USDA Organic Certified, Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, gluten-free, and free from any funny ingredients or additives. Gotta love when a brand keeps things clean and safe for consumers!
Sorry fellas, this one is for the ladies! I’ve been going to the gym more lately for my workouts and sometimes I have to go places right after before being able to stop home for a shower. But seriously…who wants to be a sweaty, disgusting mess when you’re out and about?! And let’s face it, butt and ‘lady part’ sweat is a real thing! So what have I been doing? Reaching for Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths! They are perfect for when you feel you need a little extra freshness. A lot of women use them during and after their periods…but I also like them for after a workout! They gently cleanse and remove odor-causing bacteria from your especially sweaty areas.
