Friends, if you’re not aware, I am the BAR QUEEN. One of the first ever things I posted on this blog was a bar review. And from there, I’ve gone on to try hundreds of different brands, flavors, and varieties. I am ALWAYS finding new favorites, but lately I’ve been wanting something that I’ve never been able to find on the market before. A mix of flavors, ingredients, nutrients, and textures that just hasn’t been made before…AKA my own CUSTOM bar.
You can customize ANYTHING these days. Shoes, oatmeal, protein powder, mugs, T-shirts, ice cream…you name it, you can make it your own. But I’ve never really come across a way to make a custom protein bar (short of making your own) with all the options and ingredients I want in a snack. That is…until NOW.
May I introduce….THE BAR SHACK! It’s the ultimate online store for building your own gourmet protein bar with the exact ingredients and nutritional information that fits YOUR lifestyle.
The Bar Shack is the brainchild of the mastermind behind Macaw! Foods (did you see them on my Instagram a few weeks back?). Here’s how it works…
Step 1: Choose your base!
Step 2: Choose your nut & seed butters!
Step 3: Choose your protein powders & flours!
Step 4: Choose your nuts & seeds! (Not pictured: pistachios, pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts)
Step 5: Choose your dried fruit!
Step 6: Choose your flavor & texture enhancers! (Not pictured: mint extract, oats, orange extract, pea protein crisp, sea salt, vanilla extract)
Step 7: Choose your boosters!
Step 8: NAME YOUR BAR & select the packaging color!
And that’s it!
While you’re building your bar, the nutritional information updates in real time on the side bar and you can also hover over any of the ingredient options to find out more details about them!
So now for the moment of truth…what went into MY bar?!
The Healthy Helper Bar consists of the following:
+organic cashew butter
+fiber syrup
+organic vegan protein blend
+organic dates
+organic peanuts
+organic pea protein crisps
+Brazilian coffee
+bee pollen powder
+organic cinnamon
+banana
+cranberries
+organic Guarana caffeine
Each bar has: 198 calories, 8 grams of fat (2 grams saturated), 24 grams of carbohydrates, 11 grams of fiber, 8 grams of sugar (no added sugar), and 12 grams of protein!
