I’m like a fish.
When I say I drink a lot during the day…I mean A LOT. A big glass of water to start the day, at least 4 of my water bottles, sparkling water, juice, nut milks, coffee, and LOTS of tea (especially in the winter!). I literally drink from the moment I get up to the moment I go to bed (I even keep my water bottle on my nightstand!).
I certainly don’t have a problem staying hydrated, but sometimes my constant thirst makes me want to get a little creative with the beverages I choose to consume! Water is great…but adding in some fun alternatives now and then is great too! Especially for people who claim to ‘not like water’ or who have trouble drinking enough during the day, fun beverage ‘hacks’ can help them meet their fluid intake goals without adding extra calories or unnecessary sugars into your diet.
Today I am sharing four of my favorite Healthy Beverage Hacks that I’ve discovered over the years as well as some delicious Healthy Beverage Recipes from around the web!
Flavored Sparkling Water + Apple Cider Vinegar
An oldie but goodies and my SIGNATURE beverage hack! Simply take any flavored sparkling water and add 3 capfuls of apple cider vinegar. It enhances the flavor and makes the seltzer actually taste SWEET like pop! Don’t ask me how or why…but it really works! I even got Carla hooked on it. 😉
Ice Coffee + Coconut Water
This is a new one, but boy am I excited to have discovered it! Combine one part ice coffee with one part plain coconut water and you have a sweet, energizing drink full of electrolytes.
Coffee + Chocolate Tea
A mocha-like drink without a huge amount of caffeine or sugar! Brew Numi Organics Chocolate Pu-erh Tea in a about a 1/2 a cup of coffee and the rest hot water. Instant chocolate-mocha in a cup!
Plain Seltzer Water + Apple Cider Vinegar + Flavored Stevia of Your Choice
This is my newest healthy drink hack and I was inspired to try it out when Vintage® Seltzer sent me some of their canned seltzer water to try! I received a can of their original and lemon-lime flavors. I really didn’t know there was a difference between sparkling water and seltzer water before trying these products, so it was cool to learn that seltzer has more carbonation and a little less flavor than sparkling water. But that doesn’t make them any less tasty! The fact that they have more carbonation actually makes them perfect for this healthy beverage hack.
Simply take a can of original Vintage® Seltzer, 3 capfuls of apple cider vinegar, and your choice of flavored stevia (I’ve been using Cola flavored!) and you have a drink that rivals any can of pop!
