I know, I know…all you English enthusiasts out there are probably scoffing at my use of ‘good’ instead of ‘well’. But for the sake of alliteration and for just…how I’m feeling (!), I’ve decided to be a little ungrammatically correct for today!
With that said…HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE! So excited to have finally made it through this week! And even more excited about the fact that getting through this week means I only have 4 more days of school (next week) before EXPO EAST in Baltimore! My anticipation of this event has been building and building and it is finally (almost) here. There are so many companies I am looking forward to getting in touch with, not to mention the samples and swag! Ahhhhh! It’s a HLB’s dream!
Today’s post is kind of another check in to let you know how things are going lately in my life! The stress and anxiety of college life are definitely still present, but after a day like yesterday (a very good one I may add!), I have really become more aware of all the GOOD stuff I’ve got going on right now!
Let me fill you in on the details!
The good in my life right now:
-Elections-
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you know I have been campaigning non-stop for the past week to win a senate seat in my school’s Undergraduate Association. Well…it paid off! I found out yesterday I won one of the 5 seats available to represent the class of 2016! I love student government and I m so happy to be apart of it on the college level.
-2nd Half Marathon-
Actually ended up running 13.2….but I thought I would at least mark down what my actual 13.1 time was! I had to listen to an audio book for one of my classes so I figured I might as well run while doing it! Finished it up! The run was great…the play? Not so much. A fan of Lysistrata, I am not.
-Awesome on campus programs-
I went to a seminar last night for my International Relations class put on by the group called: Invisible Children. They are the people behind the KONY 2012 movement and last night they showed us another one of their videos and held a Q and A session about their mission and their objectives. I have a lot to say about this event actually and will probably go into more detail about it this weekend, since I have to write a paper on it anyways!
-Finding a groove with my work-
I finally feel like I am getting a handle on time management, organization, and multitasking in regards to my classes. It gets bit overwhelming when I think about the short periods of time I have to get things done. But I just make myself focus, think about the most efficient ways to accomplish tasks, and get it done!
-Expo East-
As I mentioned above, SO FREAKING EXCITED! I cannot wait to recap it all for you guys!
-Mother/daughter time-
My mom and I have been meeting up during the week for random walks and chats. It’s been so nice to get to see her since I am really close with her and it makes me feel like I am still connected at home. Love you mom! (We have apple picking planned for this weekend!)
-Reading Walks-
[my favorite walking spot]
Another one of my methods for multitasking! But I’ve found that I really love taking walks! It’s so relaxing and its a great way to get out and enjoy the nice weather while simultaneously getting work done!
-Fun Workouts-
I have been doing some of my workouts right in my dorm room and here is one I came up with the other day…inspired by my love for the moves from Insanity! It’s intense!
-New Surprises Around Town-
[Panera in the works! Coming right to my neighborhood!]
[A bunch of different stores around town have FINALLY started carrying ALL the flavors of Clif’s new bars!]
[BUFFALO IS GETTING A TRADER JOES. Sure, it won’t be till next year…but I AM MAD EXCITED!]
So all in all…things are definitely going well good.
Tell me something good going on in your life right now!
Have you ever heard of the Invisible Children Organization?

Hi kaila! I’m a consistent reader and wanted to know how your roommates feel about how much you exercise andyour healthy eating habits. My roommates last year would make comments about my love of running and healthy eating in a negative way and wanted to know how your experience has been thus far. Hope you continue to get in your grove 🙂
Finally getting a TJ’s in your area must be so exciting! I love that place SO much and am so lucky to be by two 😀
