Do you have certain comfort foods? I definitely do. Whether their from childhood or from a fun food memory…there are just certain foods that make me feel all cozy and warm.
One of them is mac and cheese without a doubt!
It’s my pre-race meal of choice, I make it for dinner at least once a week, and a I am not picky about it, homemade or store-bought is fine!
I recently got a coupon in the mail from Stouffer’s for one of their family size entrees. I am ALL about free food, so I went to the store to pick something out. The creamy, delicious looking mac and cheese definitely caught my attention.
Like I’ve said before, I’m all about homemade meals, but every once in a while I definitely go for foods that accommodate my busy schedule and are made with wholesome ingredients. Plus, the family size portion allowed me to bring the meal over to my parent’s house for us ALL to enjoy.
If you’re curious, Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese recipe includes real, simple ingredients, like freshly made pasta, cheddar cheese, milk and butter. I like that you can recognize and read everything that goes into their recipe. I have to admit I didn’t know that before getting this opportunity to try some! We know that everyone wants to eat better but needs inspiration and simple solutions to choose from so they can make it a reality more often. Frozen prepared foods are a great time saver and there are so many new dishes and flavors to choose from.
Everyone wants to eat healthier, right? Simple solutions like combining this entrée with a delicious, nutritious vegetable side dish helps make it a reality for more people, more often.
Speaking of sides! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to make to go with my new mac and cheese. But inspiration struck when I looked in my pantry and found my (almost gone…tear) Everything But the Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joe’s. I’ve made tons of stuff with it already but the idea of veggie BAGEL CHIPS sounded amazing at the moment.
I had some zucchini in the fridge that needed to be used up so zucchini bagel chip were born! So simple and easy to make just like the Mac!
3 Ingredient Everything Bagel Zucchini Chips [gluten-free]
- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 25 mins
- Total Time: 30 mins
- Yield: 1 serving
- Category: Sides
- 1 medium zucchini (about 250 grams)
- 2 tsp Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Blend
- 3 tbsp liquid egg whites
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl so that zucchini is well coated with egg white and seasoning. Spread zucchini evenly on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and serve as a side with your favorite comfort food!
