A fun survey with insight into my life at home! Get to know me and what has changed since I’ve moved out on my own and into my new space.
I did this At My House survey a few years ago when I still lived with my parents, but since it’s been 2 years since I’ve been out on my own and I’ve moved twice since then, I thought it was time to revisit it and see what’s changed!
But first, I wanted to give you all a few life updates and details about what’s been going on with me lately…
I mentioned earlier this week on Instagram that I have to go wheat- and dairy-free for the next 6 weeks per my Naturopath’s recommendation. In addition, I am taking a 3 different natural supplements daily: GABBA, AdrenalCalm (a homemade tincture that she makes in-house), and Magnesium Glycinate.
You may be wondering why I am seeing an ND and it’s hard to sum up in a matter of words or a few sentences. Part of it has to do with the struggles I outlined here (which have only gotten worse), but also my sleep cycle is completely thrown off, my gastrointestinal system is revolting against me, and my doctors think I have issues with both my adrenal glands and my thyroid (which runs in my family).
On top of that, and really BECAUSE of all of that, my body image has been sh*t, my depression has been at it’s all time worst (dangerous for me), and my anxiety has been exacerbated to levels I’ve never experienced. Usually, I would turn to my normal doctors for support, but honestly, everything they’ve been offering HASN’T worked. So, after being referred from a friend of my mom’s, I decided to pursue seeing an ND. I believe in natural medicine and healing techniques, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to give them a shot. And hey, if nothing works and I don’t experience relief…it’s only for 6 weeks. But I am really REALLY hoping this next step is finally one in the right direction of getting the help I need.

On to lighter subjects…I’ll be in LA this weekend for work! I won’t have a lot of time for meet-ups or anything like that but if you’re in LA and you see me out on the streets, please say hi! Also, if you have any suggestions for running routes I’d really appreciate them. Gotta keep Boston training in mind, ya know? (more on my very relaxed approach to this training cycle in another post)
And FINALLY….onto the survey that this whole post is supposed to be about! Talk about long intros. Sheesh!
Recipe I’m scared to try: I really want to try making stuffed cupcakes! For some reason, I’ve been seeing these everywhere lately and I have so many fun filling ideas. I just don’t exactly know how to go about doing it yet. I have a feeling there will be a few MAJOR fails before I get it right.
Favorite family recipe:This one hasn’t changed since last time. My grandma’s homemade version of THIS.
Household chore I actually enjoy: Vacuuming! Gotta love those nice straight rug lines.
Before company arrives, I hide: All my packages and work stuff! I get SO MUCH mail so it’s always laying everywhere until I have time to photograph it and put it away. And since I am a to-do list maker for work, those are everywhere too!
Favorite junk food: Anything chocolate and peanut butter. My weakness.
I’d do anything to avoid: traffic, getting stuck behind slow walkers,
Good habit: Flossing.
Bad habit: SO. MANY. BAD. HABITS. RIGHT. NOW. (see above…trying to break those)
Stuff I can’t live without: COFFEE. My animals. My phone.
I’m currently reading: My Precision Nutrition textbook…FINALLY diving in.
I stay fit by: Just trying to move my body in SOME way everyday.
Personal motto/mantra: At this point, I am borrowing from Dori: “Just Keep Swimming”.
I wish I could tell my future self to: Keep your head above water.
Etiquette pet peeve: People who don’t stay to the right when they’re walking/running towards you, weak handshakes, talking over other people.
Cat/dog/other: BOTH now!! Toby the tabby and Ella the yorkie!
