No-bake protein bars that taste like chocolate covered strawberries! These bars are easy to make, gluten-free, refined sugar free, and can be made vegan. No need to buy expensive bars from the store when you can make your own healthy, chocolate filled ones in less than 5 minutes!

Well, really ALL bars are my game. As the self proclaimed ‘bar queen’, my day is never complete without at least 2 (usually 3!) bars. I just have so many favorites that I need to have a few each day to fit them all in. Plus, does anyone really get satisfied from ONE bar? I didn’t think so.
The problem I have is that my bar addiction is so voracious that I go through them rather quickly. This can get rather expensive when you have gourmet bar tastes like mine! The best way I’ve found to supplement my stash is to make some homemade bars every once in a while.
These No-Bake Vegan Banana Nut Bars are a favorite and when I’m feeling something more savory I reach for my Pizza Snack Bars. It’s been a while since I created a new, homemade bar flavor though so I thought I’d change things up from my usual go-to’s.
My homemade protein bars have a few requirements. They have to be:
- easy and quick to make (ain’t nobody got time for time intensive bar making!)
- full of satisfying, healthy protein
- only made from real, whole food ingredients
- low in added sugars
With that in mind, I started brainstorming new flavor ideas. The nice thing about making bars from scratch is that you can think up your dream flavor and make it a reality (well, if everything goes according to plan that it! 😉 ).I recently had chocolate covered strawberries on the brain after being served some with the check at a local restaurant (what a nice treat, right?!), so I decided to formulate a recipe with those flavor notes!
I recently picked up some of the new Good Protein from Les Mills and the chocolate flavor seemed perfect for adding to this recipe. I am very picky when it comes to protein powders…especially with all the ones on the market nowadays! You have to be wary of long ingredient lists, unnecessary additives, and low-quality protein sources.Luckily you don’t have to worry about any of that with Good Protein. Every serving has over 25 grams of complete protein from ethically sourced, grass-fed cow’s milk. There are 6 simple ingredients, no added sugars or fillers, and great flavor from natural vanilla and REAL cocoa powder! Also, the mix of casein and whey give it the perfect thick consistency for these no-bake bars.
With my ingredients rounded up, I got to mixing and created some pretty delicious, portable snacks!
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Protein Bars

Ingredients (6 bars)
- 1/2 of a banana
- 3/4 cup whole fresh strawberries
- 1 scoop (25 grams) chocolate whey protein powder or vegan protein powder
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp coconut flour
- 1/4 cup almond butter (I used Cherry Vanilla Almond from Kalot Superfood)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup oats
In a food processor, puree banana and strawberries together. Add remaining ingredients except for the oats. Blend until smooth. Add oats and pulse the mixture until they are mixed in but not fully pureed. Blend all ingredients, except oats, together in a food processor. Place mixture on parchment paper and form into a rectangle. Refrigerate the mixture for at least one hour. Remove mixture from refrigerator and slice into 6 bars. Wrap each bar in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
If you’re vegan and looking to make these bars, simply swap out the whey for a vegan chocolate protein powder…easy peasy!I like storing these in the freezer and letting them thaw only slightly before munching. They’re like dense, chocolate-y frozen treat with nice big chunks of sweet berries and slight nuttiness. Texture, taste, and nutrition all in one! Snack perfection.
