Blogging is definitely a process of growth and development. Most people start off with no readers aside from their friends and family. Of course, a community builds overtime…but it makes me sort of sad to think a lot of posts, recipes, thoughts, and workouts that I shared early on in my blogging career weren’t seen by hardly anyone. Sure, people can go back into the archives, but just like my readership has grown, my blogging skills have evolved as well….so some of those old posts are not the greatest in terms of organization and style! But there is still some great content to be seen!
I’ve tried to hunt down some of my favorite posts from the past and keep them in an updated list on my ‘Favorites’ page (that reminds me, I need to go update that!), but a lot of good stuff still slips through the cracks!
So I’ve decided to embark on a project (it’ll give me lots to do once the semester ends!) to revive some of my archives! Whether that’s updating a recipe with better pictures, resharing a workout that I didn’t make a graphic for, or featuring some posts that I feel have an important message!
Today I am kicking things off with two kick ass workouts that I shared when I first started the blog aaaaaaand one new one!
I still do these two circuits often so I think it’s right that I share them again with you all so you can use them for a killer workout as well!
One core circuit, one strength workout, and a new treadmill interval workout! The treadmill workout is one of my new favorites! The varied speeds keep me guessing the whole time and make it so I don’t get bored as I’m truckin’ along…
Let me know if you try any of these out!
And here’s the new treadmill workout! Let me just say, this is TOUGH. It should only be done after a good solid warm-up, because as the name says…it STARTS WITH SPRINTS!!! I find I like completing this workout best after I do my One Mile Progression run!
Happy Weekend, friends! And have fun gettin’ yo sweat on!
When you find a new blog do you typically go back into the archives to read old posts?
What’s your favorite way to work your core?
Which workout above looks the most fun…or maybe CHALLENGING!….to you?
Are you all interested in me reviving some of the archived posts?

I totally agree! I routinely spruce up old posts and recirculate them! Love the workouts – look intense. I’ve pinned them for later – Lea

Thanks Lea!!

Uh, yes…I think I might just need to warm up a tad before trying to sprint at 10mph 😉 You do have the best treadmill workouts though – trust me, I never, ever need to adjust the speed to make them more challenging like I do with lots of TM workouts from other blogs. I’m usually just about ready to throw up by the time I’m done, and I’d never be able to motivate myself to that extent running on my own outside. I do still prefer outdoor runs though, but I always keep a file of your TM workouts ready for the winter!
I do actually read the archives of lots of blogs when I first start to read them…but that might be because I’m a bit sad and have too much time on my hands 😛 I like reading the first couple of posts…I think they can tell you a lot about a person precisely because they are less polished, and often written before a persona or ‘brand’ was developed.

Thanks, Jess! I thought you’d like this one! 🙂

That treadmill workout looks…deathly. haha. I may attempt it (with adjusted speeds!) and will let you know how it goes! I love the core workout– I’ll definitely be doing that one!
I really should start recirculating my posts…

Let me know how you like it!!! 🙂

These look killer! I like the core workout you made. Doing abs isn’t my favorite thing, so I like doing a bunch of different exercises as opposed to 4-5 but doing them for 3-4 sets. I’ll let you know if I try it!

Let me know if you try it out!

I read the archived breakfast recipe posts because I usually decide to follow a blog based solely on the number of breakfast recipes, haha. I love breakfast TOO much and am always looking for new ideas!
And the ‘Rock Your Body’ workout looks interesting! Lots of unusual types of squats. Should I listen to Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body” while completing the workout? Just kidding! 🙂
Healthy Helper says
Yes! You should totally listen to that song! LOL Good idea!

Kaila, I just love your blog 🙂 I think I could spend hours reading through it! I think reposting favorite posts is a great idea! And these workouts all look challenging in their own way! I may have to try the core one!

You are too sweet Amber!! Thank you!

I know what you mean about your beginning content only being read by a few people! I think it’s a cool idea to revive some of your archives and share them all over again. I can definitely relate. When I started my blog, I shared a lot of recipes… but my photography.. horrendous haha (not that it’ amazing now LOL). Some day I want to go back and re-make my old recipes so I can photograph them again. Thanks for inspiring me 🙂
