Saturday was another full day of classes. 🙁 But luckily we were able to steal away after dinner and go to the city. Our first stop was Wal-Mart (I know, I know…not very exciting right), we were able to get some snacks and my friend David was bombarded, like always, for photo’s.
The babies were a first for him however. Two women approached him and put their babies right on his lap for a photo. It was hilarious. The funniest thing is, babies here where butt-less pants for potty training, so I don’t think David will be wearing those shorts anytime soon.
Our ride took us through the city, which was lit up and looked really cool. Everything looked so modern and bright. Much better than during the day when all the construction is visible.
After our drive through town we stopped at a local park. It was so beautiful with tons of great lake and scenery views.
We took about a half-hour walk around the area and were able to see a lot of the park.
We got back really late and I crashed. Sitting in class all day takes a lot more out of you then you would think.
On today’s agenda:
We are going into the city to walk around the city wall (full of shops and restaurant) and then going to the Muslim Quarter (or Meager district-Chinese Muslims) to get a taste of their culture and try the awesome ethnic food they have. Should be fun!
Tomorrow we fly back to Beijing (thank god)!
