A roundup of my current favorite products, links, and things from around the web! Check out the list and find some new things to try for yourself.
No long intros or chit-chat for this post! Instead, I’m going to get right to my monthly favorites for October 2018. I am currently multi-tasking writing this post and packing for my long-weekend trip to Austin, TX!
I am so excited to finally visit Austin. I’ve heard such great things about the city and it’s been on my bucket list to travel to for years now. I’m going to see one of my favorite up and coming indie artists (more on that in the favorites below! ?
Peppermint Bark Quest Bars (not very minty, but still delish!)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Bars (the NEW version….so much better and more peanut buttery than the original!)
Simple Mills Farmhouse Cheddar Crackers (better than Cheez-Its and better for your too!)
Dr Praeger’s Kale Puffs (the grown-up version of tater tots)
Ultima Grape Electrolyte Drink Powder (legit tastes like GRAPE POP!)
Planter’s NUT-rition Energy Mix (the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and fruity!)
These high energy gummies are EPIC! Just two of them have the same amount of caffeine as 2 cups of coffee and they are PERFECT for a boost before a tough workout. Plus, the pumpkin and chocolate flavors are SPOT on. You’d think you were eating a fancy seasonal dessert instead of chewing an energy gummy!
To listen to
Noah Kahan (the amazing singer I’m seeing at The Parish in Austin)
Bohemian Rhapsody Soundtrack (I’m a HUGE Queen fan so I can’t wait to see the movie!)
The Haunting of Hill house on Netflix (So interesting! And beyond being creepy it has a great hidden meaning about mental illness and grief)
Power (my new OBSESSION…I finished all 5 seasons in about 3 weeks!?)
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix (such a fun twist on the original series!)
As you know, I haven’t been able to run all year and that’s forced me to find alternatives to my greatest passion. Even when I was able to run, I was always curious about aqua jogging as a form of cross training and strength building. Recently, I had the pleasure of trying the Fluid Running program!
This aqua jogging program gives you everything you need to get a KILLER workout in the pool while mimicking the motions of running. Every kit comes with your own flotation belt and tether, bluetooth waterproof headphones, and a number of awesome workouts that can be downloaded on your phone to do in the pool.
I HIGHLY underestimated how hard the workouts would be! I guess I thought since I was in the water I wouldn’t sweat or get too out of breath, but that wasn’t the case at all. My heart was pumping, I was breathing heavy, and I definitely felt the leg burn that you get during a hard run. And when I got out of the pool, my legs felt SO heavy. Talk about added resistance!
Overall, I LOVED the Fluid Running program and highly recommend it to anyone looking to change up their fitness routine or have a low-impact alternative to running. (Stay tuned for a fun giveaway in relation to this coming soon! ?)
Aaaaaaaaand best Halloween costume goes to…
