And of course I have my own theme song…
I don’t know if I should be telling you this or not….but I am kind of….a secret agent. An undercover operative if you will. Traveling around town doing secretive jobs and cashing in on my simple tasks.
Okay, okay ya got me…so I’m not a secret agent per say. But I certainly feel like one because of this cool new app I’ve been using! It’s called Field Agent. I don’t know how many of you have heard of it, but I am LOVING it so I wanted to share it with you! (And no I am not being sponsored by the makers of the app or anything like that…I just legitimately think this is awesome!)
So what is it? Basically its an app that posts various “jobs” you can do around your city. You sign up and make an account and then you can start accepting these various jobs. The jobs range from going somewhere and taking a picture to scanning the bar code of a specific product in a store. And the coolest part? You get PAID for each job you complete! And not just like 50 cents or points that you later can redeem for money…no, not in this case. Actual money! Granted it usually around 7 dollars per job…but you can get paid up to 25 dollars at once! I have already done two really easy jobs and have made 14 bucks.
To some of you that may not be very much, but hey, I am gonna be on my own in a few weeks so ANY money is good money! And plus, its actually pretty fun going around and doing the various jobs. I feel like I am on some super secret scavenger hunt!
I am always biking around anyways and for the times when I am sitting at home with nothing to do, Field Agent gives me the perfect opportunity to be productive and have some fun.
From my newly (self) proclaimed secret agent title to another secretive topic….
Have any of you ever heard of Post Secret?
A little background courtesy of Wikipedia:
“PostSecret is an ongoing community mail art project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. The concept of the project was that completely anonymous people decorate a postcard and portray a secret that they had never previously revealed. No restrictions are made on the content of the secret; only that it must be completely truthful and must never have been spoken before. Entries range from admissions of sexual misconduct and criminal activity to confessions of secret desires, embarrassing habits, hopes and dreams. The secrets are meant to be empowering both to the author and to those who read it. Frank Warren claims that the postcards are inspirational to those who read them, have healing powers for those who write them, give hope to people who identify with a stranger’s secret, and create an anonymous community of acceptance.”
[a collection of some of the secrets]
Every time I go into a bookstore and see a copy of PostSecret I find myself sitting for hours panning through the pages of secrets. For some reason it fascinates me! All these secrets out in the open but no faces or names to connect them to. I always thought that it must feel so freeing to get a secret out in the open…something you’ve never told anyone…without an repercussions or people truly finding out that it is your secret. You’re kind of able to have your cake and eat it too in a sense!
Well, after years of reading others secrets, I decided to submit my own. Now, don’t get any ideas…of course I am not going to share my secret! That would defeat the whole purpose! But I just wanted to share that I sent one in…and it felt amazing! It was so cathartic writing it out on a post card and then getting my creative side on by decorating it. A fun little project for sure!
I don’t know if my secret will ever get published…but just the process of sticking a stamp on it and tossing it in the mailbox was so freeing!
This got me thinking….what if we did a Blogger PostSecret project? Where people could submit secrets anonymously through a formspring account and then we could publish them weekly….kind of like the actual PostSecret does every Sunday. It might be kind of fun! Would anyone be interested in this?
Let me know and maybe we can set something up!

Well, that’s all for me tonight folks! Wait, I lied. One more secret to share. It’s not really a secret but it’s just something I haven’t shared on the blog yet and would like to start incorporating.
True to the name of my blog, Healthy Helper, each day I try and do at least one thing to help someone else. Big or small. And I write down one of these things in my journal every night. It really helps me reflect, find a positive thing in my day, and keep me focused on whats important in life.
So, I decided to just make it a daily addition to my posts. You can read it or you don’t have to…its more for me to just stay accountable and keep doing little things to help others everyday. And with that…
Todays Healthy Help: I responded to a few reader email’s asking me for advice and support. I love interacting with my readers like this!
Okay…NOW I’m done!
Have a fantastic day/night!
