You know what Saturday means….FARMERS MARKET!
Sadly my market is dwindling down a bit, now that the weather is getting colder. Less vendors….but that doesn’t necessarily mean less veggies. Look at what I got!!!!!
Seriously the biggest veggies of my life! Each of these weighed at least 15 pounds each! I will be eating cabbage for the next THREE weeks for sure! And that Kohlrabi….OMG so heavy and huge! I bought it since it was only two bucks (I’m a sucker for a bargain!), but I have to admit I was kind od intimidated…I had never had it before and really had no idea what to do with it!
But that’s what Google is for right? I found out it can really be prepared anyway…but I loved the idea of a puree so I went that route! Steamed up the whole thing and into the food processor it went.
Looks like I’ll be eating Kohlrabi for the next few weeks as well!
Other Farmer’s Market finds:
With all this veggie lovin’…I needed a little fruit action in my life too!
Luckily, That’s It sent me a boatload of yummy fruit snacks to try out!
I have always loved fruit leathers/fruit bars! They remind me of my childhood so I was really excited to test these out. The three flavors are: apple pear, apple apricot, and apple cherry! And literally the ingredients are exactly what’s in the name! So simple…so natural! I love no sugar added stuff. Its nice to see a company acknowledging how naturally sweet fruit is on its own. No need for any additives or sweeteners. Just pure, wholesome fruit in bar form!
Such a fun alternative if you’re craving something sweet other than a piece of whole fruit!
Thanks That’s It!!!
Aside from food finding (and eating ), I snuck in a great workout today in between writing the longest paper of my life (literally….its 13 pages).
Part of it was a half hour interval sesh on the elliptical…it was a good one so I thought I’d share:
Set crossramp to 12.
1 minute-resistance 10
1 minute-resistance 9
30 seconds- resistance 11
30 seconds- resistance 9
Repeat until 30 minutes is reached.
Sweat happened people. Lot of it.
Good news is…this workout reenergized me and helped me power through the rest of my essay! YAY!
All in all it was a great Saturday! The blog even got a surge in views over the past two days! So thank you to all you new comers!! Nice to have you along for the ride.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend friends!!
Tomorrow is grocery shopping/homework day…something fun combined with…well….not so fun.
But ya know what I always say….ya gotta take the good with the bad.
Have you ever had Kohlrabi?
