That pretty much sums me up right now.
Hello from Seattle, Washington! I arrived her at 2:00 EST and am here on a 6 hour layover until 8:35. 🙁 All in all it will take the group and I more than 24 hours of travel to get to Beijing. Whoever book our plane rides must have been unclear in the head at the time because we are taking 4 flights over a 2 day period, when we could have simply left from the east coast (where we’re from) and taken a short drive and one flight to Beijing. So much simpler. But I guess all this travel is part of the experience.
Here is a rundown of my day so far (3 airports, copious amounts of airport buys, lots of food, and attempts at sleep-> and we’re still not there!!!)
~Woke up this morning at 3 o’clock for a 4:30 meeting time at the Buffalo-Niagara International airport.
Morning faces anyone? Lol. At this point we were all pretty tired, but excitement was high in anticipation of our final destination. Little did we know, this day of traveling would be so mentally and physically draining. We were late to our gate because of some shotty service at the Delta counter (I like Southwest better :)). It was a little nerve-wracking but we made it and forty minutes later we arrived in Detroit.
It was now 7 o’clock and time for some food. I was sooo hungry! Luckily I came prepared and packed a homemade egg-mcmuffin and some sides. Very good.
We killed some time walking around the airport (we had another long layover for our 12 o’clock flight to Seattle). I got hungry again pretty quick and grabbed a hot steamer from Starbucks<- steamed milk with cinnamon and a flavor shot. So delicious.
Then it was time to board again. I enjoyed lunch on the plane….turkey tortillas with yogurt, fruit, and some veg+dip. Easy and portable.
I have been enjoying snacks all day and have pretty much demolished some of them.
Bye bye apple rings. You will be missed.
I got a little bit of sleep on the plane, but I still don’t feel very rested. I can’t believe how long I have been awake!
After a 5 hour flight, we arrived here, in Seattle, where I am blogging to you right now. The airport is pretty nice. And we got to enjoy some local commodities, namely Seattle’s Best.
‘Nother steamer was enjoyed. 🙂
We just got back from a walk around the airport. Just trying to busy ourselves and waste some time.
I wish we could have sometime is each of the places we stop, the scenery outside the airport looks so beautiful!
Well I am off to grab some dinner….it’s 8:30 my time but 5:30 here and my stomach is growling. Time to fuel up!
Cya in China!
