They are a great source of protein (what both your hair and nails are primarily made of) and have a high concentration of magnesium. Magnesium helps with strengthening hair and nails. It also is known as the ‘anti-stress mineral’. Being over stressed causes hair loss and thinning. In addition, ridgy nails are a sign of magnesium deficiency in the diet.

Salmon is another one of those all star foods. It’s a natural source of biotin (which is a complex B vitamin that thickens and prevents breakage) and omega 3 fatty acids.
