With food allergies on the rise, more companies are coming out with allergen-free snacks for consumers to enjoy! Check out this roundup for a list of the healthiest, tastiest allergy-friendly snacks on the market today.
This post in sponsored by Mambo Sprouts in honor of their Live Free From campaign.
As I mentioned a few posts ago, there is A LOT going on this month. In addition to it being Women’s Health Month, May is also Free From Month! A whole 31 days dedicated to raising awareness about food allergies and helping those who suffer with them find a better quality of life. Gotta love two health focuses themes in one awesome month!
Anyways, if you’re not familiar with Free From Month, it’s an effort recognized around the country to spotlight the needs of those with food allergies. The month-long initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about the fact that food allergies are serious, sometimes life-threatening medical conditions. Helping people understand what can trigger allergic reactions, what are the top allergens (including: eggs, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, seafood, soy, tree nuts, wheat, etc), and to recognize symptoms of allergic reactions can help make the world a safer place for people with food allergies.
Did you know that, as of 2017, over 15 million people in the US have food allergies?! Nearly 6 million of those being children! Food allergies are on the rise, as well. According to the CDC, there has been an 18 percent increase in food allergies among children between 1997 and 2007.
My thought is, being a kid is HARD ENOUGH, let alone having to worry about what foods you’re putting in your body and how they could adversely affect you.
That’s why in honor of Free From and Food Allergy Awareness Month, I’ve teamed up with Mambo Sprouts to share some of my TOP allergy friendly (and KID-friendly) snacks that the whole family can enjoy together. No matter what you’re craving or what your old favorite snack used to be pre-diagnosis, there is a product here for YOU.
